Apologies

I met you at the Knitting Factory in NYC. We later found each other on a social networking site and chatted on various occasions. We hung out around Tribeca discussing politics and music. You lent me a book about your favorite president, and out of respect I make sure that it doesn't collect any dust. We decided to meet again and ride the carousel in the Toys R Us off 42nd street. I wasn't there, but you told me that you waited for me in the rain for 2 hours. I never saw you again. I hope you are well. I'm sorry.

Somewhere back in time

One day, some where back in time, there was a snow storm raging. I walked down the block to wait for an NJTransit bus to take me to school, as I had done for many mornings. I had never seen you before, but we made eye contact, and you asked me if I was cold. I said I was not, but you told me that I was tiny and "could die" for being out during this snow storm in nothing but a "little sweater". As you continued, you insisted, despite my plea's for you not to go and my insistence that I was warm in my "little sweater", that you had had to go to your home and retrieve a jacket for me. You came back with 3 jackets and asked me to choose one. I chose the fuzzy black jacket, it was probably two sizes to big but It did indeed keep me warm. I thanked you greatly, as you rushed back to your home to put back the jackets. From a distance I could see the NJTransit bus beginning to strut down the block to our stop. I could also see you from a distance bustling to the bus stop to catch it. I jumped in the bus and sat down; I didn't ask the bus driver to stop and wait for you. The image of your running to the bus stop still irks me to till this day and I just want you to know that I am forever in your debt.
